FAVORITE CD'S OF LATE:
Favorite album I'm currently playing to death is "Haunted" by Poe. I loved her first album, "Hello", and this one is even better. Sort of spooky and Pink Floyd-esque in that it tells a story and is a great album to listen to all the way through. The songs also have a beat to them, and will stick in your head like crazy.
FAVORITE CD'S 1999/2000
"Metasexual" by Joydrop, which is an incredible album. Their radio hit "Beautiful (like you)" is just the tip of the iceberg. This album offers a little bit of everything, from ballads worthy of Live, to grrrl rock reminescent of Garbage and Luscious Jackson.
Sinead O'Connor's "Faith and Courage" is the best she's had out since the "Lion and the Cobra", IMHO
"Version 2.0" by Garbage
"Score" by Haslinger, also check out "World WIthout Rules", but I like "Score" better
Massive Attack's "Mezzanine" is moody & very atmospheric while having a funky hypnotic beat thoughout.
"On How Life Is" by Macy Gray is great retro funk
"I Bificus" by Bif Naked is girl angst music that rocks
"Radiator" by Super Furry Animals is all over the place, from really awesome retro to some very strange stuff. Warning, though, some of their other albums are in Welsh (I think) and are a little hard to listen to. Check this one out, though.
"The Impossible World" by Combustible Edison is cool retro lounge with a modern twist.
I haven't really been a Madonna fan since the 80's, but two of her recent singles really sucked me in. I bought the EP single with all the dance mixes of "Ray of Light" and played it till I drove my husband crazy. I'm also eagerly awaiting the EP single of "Beautiful Stranger" from Austin Powers 2 (available from Amazon as an import CD single with the remixes).
"Volume 2: Release" by Afro Celt Sound System
FAVORITE CD'S OF 1998 (or at least one I discovered in 1998!)
"Tibet" Waterbone
"Book of Secrets" Loreena McKennitt
"From the Choirgirl Hotel" Tori Amos
"Earthling" David Bowie
"Trysome Eatone" Love Spit Love
"Immobile" Autour de Lucie
"Formica Blues" Mono
"Moon Safari" Air
"Sacrebleu" Dimitri From Paris
"Loung-a-palooza" with music from Poe, Pizzicato Five, Polly Jean Harvey, Ben Folds Five, Edwyn Collins , Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme's cover of "Black Hole Sun", Glen Campbell and Michelle Shocked's version of "The Witchita Lineman", and a new Esquivel!/Combustible Edison song.
"What The World Needs Now, Big Deal Recording Artists Perform the Songs of Burt Bacharach" features Shonen Knife, Wondermints, Splitsville and lots more.
FAVORITE CD'S OF 1997
"Happy End of the World" Pizzicato Five
"Fever In/ Fever Out" Luscious Jackson
"Nine Objects of Desire" Suzanne Vega
"Becoming X" The Sneaker Pimps
"Portishead" Portishead
"Hello" Poe
"Sheryl Crow" Sheryl Crow

The Arena of the Unwell has a wonderful page devoted the late, great comedian and satirist Bill Hicks, a local boy from Texas. He was a brilliant, brutal comedian who died far too early at the age of 32. The site has photos, sound bites, tributes, links and more. If you've never heard Bill, pick of his CD "Arizona Bay" (my personal favorite). His humor is intended for adult audiences only (as is this site) and if you're easily offended, or the least bit right wing, walk on by... (I think this page is dead, I'm still checking for a new address...)
On the same note, The Bill Hicks Foundation for Wildlife Rehabilitation is an Austin, Tx. based non-profit foundation started by friends of Bill as a tribute and working to protect the local wildlife. Stop by and check them out and see Bill and his pet ferret.

Beyond Roswell is our friend Mark Lee Center's UFO info page. Also check out his personal home page with info and himself and his skateboarding friends!
The Stash Tea Company I'm a tea freak (no coffee for me, thank you!), and this is my favorite tea company. Most of their business is done mail order, though occasionally around Christmas you can find gift sets of their teas in your local stores. They have very high quality teas, from your normal English Breakfast to exotic teas like Cochin Ginger. Check out their web page, or order their catalogue.
Bat Conservation International Organization dedicated to education and protection. Have bat merchandise for sale also.
